报告标题 Fabrication, Magnetostriction and applications of Tb-Dy-Fe alloys
报告摘要 Tb-Dy-Fe alloys (based on Tb0.27-0.30Dy0.73-0.70Fe1.9-2 Laves compound) exhibit excellent magnetostrictive properties and found many engineering applications such as in sonar transducer systems and sensors, micro-actuators, control valves, fuel injecting systems, shock eliminators. First we will introduce the fabrication methods for Tb-Dy-Fe alloys and the corresponding preferred growth direction. Tb-Dy-Fe alloys have a huge magnetostrictive anisotropy. Significant efforts have been taken on preparing TbxDy1−xFe2 crystals possessing <111>, <112> and <110> preferred orientation by means of Czochralski method, Bridgman method and zone melting method. Optimum magnetostrictive properties were found for single crystals, and since the easy axis of magnetization for Tb-Dy-Fe alloy is <111> direction. Previous works have proven that <112> orientation is the preferred growth direction of Tb-Dy-Fe crystals. Secondly we will introduce some other alloying elements on magnetostrictive properties and mechanical properties. Previously many elements including Al,Mn,Co etc, substituted for iron and Pr, Ho, etc, substituted for Tb or Dy have been used to tailor the magnetostrictive properties over a wider operating temperature range. Finally we will give some information on the effects of the heat treatment on the magnetostrictive and mechanical properties of Tb-Dy-Fe alloys. In addition, some possible applications of Tb-Dy-Fe alloys are also presented.
报告人简介 刘源,男,1974年7月生,现为清华大学材料学院副教授,博导。2012年入选教育部新世纪人才支持计划。曾荣获教育部科技进步一等奖和哈尔滨工业大学优秀博士学位论文。承担包括国防预研、973前期、国家自然科学基金重点和面上项目以及企业委托开发项目近20项。撰写专著一部,发表论文100余篇,专著1部,发明专利7项。主要从事凝固理论和凝固新材料方面的研究工作:
  1. 超磁致伸缩材料定向凝固制备、性能及应用;
  2. 悬浮冶金工艺和装备;
  3. 多孔金属材料制备及应用研究;
4)凝固理论、凝固新材料及凝固新技术;
5)轻金属和超轻结构的成形加工技术。
